Your questions, answered

Who is the DaoSense Membership for?

The DaoSense Membership is for anyone who wants to bring Chinese medicine into everyday life in a practical, grounded, and supportive way.

You do not need prior knowledge, a diagnosis, or a professional background.
The membership is designed for people who are curious, attentive to their bodies, and interested in understanding health through lived experience rather than theory alone.

It is suitable if you are completely new to Chinese medicine and looking for a clear, accessible entry —
and equally if you are an acupuncturist or practitioner who wants to stay rooted in the everyday, lived practice of Chinese medicine and continue to embody what you work with professionally.

Whether you are beginning, deepening, or returning to this knowledge, the membership supports you in integrating Chinese medicine as a living practice — step by step, at your own pace.

I have already purchased workbooks outside the membership. Can these be credited toward the annual membership? What if I didn’t receive or missed my voucher code?

Yes, this is possible.
For each workbook purchased outside the membership, you receive a voucher code worth $12, which can be applied when purchasing the current annual membership ($120).

If you did not receive or may have missed your voucher code after purchase:

Please email your purchase receipt(s) to mail@daosense.org. We will review everything and resend your code so you can safely apply your discount.

Important:

  • Credits apply only to the current annual membership (not monthly memberships or previous plans).
  • Each purchased workbook equals one $12 voucher.
Does it make sense to buy older workbooks during the membership?

It can — but it doesn’t have to.

If you feel drawn to working more deeply with a specific element or organ at the moment (for example Liver, Heart, Earth element, etc.), purchasing a corresponding older workbook can help you dive in right away.

You can also simply wait: The membership follows a cyclical structure, and all elements and themes return regularly. When they do, you will automatically receive the workbook as part of your membership.

Do I need a Chinese medical diagnosis or prior knowledge to understand the content?

No, not at all.

The workbooks and tools are designed so that you can explore and understand yourself step by step from the perspective of Chinese medicine — even without prior knowledge or a formal diagnosis.

I am already in treatment — isn’t that enough?

The membership is an ideal complement to clinical or therapeutic treatment.

It gives you your own rhythm and allows you to deepen themes over time — something that is often missing in purely treatment-based settings.

Through weekly engagement, you learn to interpret your own patterns and develop a deeper understanding of how your body works.

From my clinical experience, people who work alongside treatment with the membership often achieve more sustainable and deeper outcomes.

How does cancellation work?
Annual membership

Your annual plan renews automatically for another year. You will receive a reminder in advance inside the member area, so you can consciously decide whether to continue.
You can cancel directly in the member area — easily and without notice periods.

Monthly membership

Your monthly plan renews automatically each month. You can cancel anytime directly in the member area.Your access to new content remains active until the end of the already paid period.

I have no prior knowledge — where should I start?

No problem at all — you can start right away.

All content is designed so you can follow along step by step and benefit, even without any background knowledge.

If you would like a clearer understanding of the basic concepts of Chinese medicine:

There is a compact add-on course covering the essential foundations of Chinese medicine. You can book this introductory course separately if you wish. It is available directly in the member area.

I’m not sure whether the membership is right for me — what can I do?

No pressure.
You’re welcome to browse the blog first — it will give you a good sense of my writing style, themes, and the depth you can expect inside the membership.
Other options:

  • Monthly membership: Try the membership month by month and cancel anytime — completely risk-free.
  • Purchase a single workbook: You can start with one workbook. If you later decide to join the annual membership, the purchase price will be credited as a voucher.

This allows you to discover at your own pace whether DaoSense is right for you.
